WOW! Have you ever had one of those "Aha!" moments?
In my quest to get 100 reviews for my books, I realized I was giving instructions on how to post a review. I was explaining how easy it is to write a review (just say what you liked about the book). I was also informing you of other ways to post your review at the end of the eBook by clicking on 'leave a review' on your Kindle which tells Amazon that you read my book.
I had an "AHA!" moment when I was lamenting as to why readers don't post reviews for my books? Why was I no closer to reaching 100? I realized I was asking the wrong question! The question should not be "why aren't they posting a review?"
The question is...specifically for my books..."What makes you want to review the book?"
It certainly isn't because you want to influence the Amazon algorithm. It can't be because you are not interested in sharing your love of reading. I don't even think it is because it might be hard to figure out what to say.
What is it that makes you want to review a book? Is it characters? The world building? The adventure? The action? The romance?
