Greetings from the Green Chair!
Good evening! Kind of piggy-backing upon my last blog about success; I had a reader of my book one, Of Demon Kind, tell me she loved my book and could not put it down. There is no greater compliment to an author than to hear those words. Many times, I’ve gotten discouraged, but then I think about those positive comments and I think, “Wow! That is the best compliment” and I start smiling so hard my face hurts and I end up doing the happy dance.
A great event coming up is the Book Talk Radio Club awards. I’m a finalist in the fantasy category with Of Demon Kind. As a self-published author, I think awards and contests are icing on the cake of my book publishing. It is also an outlet to market my books which help spread the word. Here’s praying for success in that area too.
Redemption of the Fallen, while not having as many reviews has gotten the same sort of comments. It is a sequel that has been greatly received. Now, I just need the reviews.
The next step in my series is to research a new self-publisher. I am a little apprehensive about self-publishing companies after having such a bad experience with the first two books. The only saving-grace was that both books have great covers and are professionally done but… that’s it. Of course, I don’t kid my self that I’ll ever see any royalties from that company, but I’ve accepted that and am more in this for the writing. Another lesson learned, being a self-published author doesn’t pay well. I write because I must and because I love it. My books are like my children.
