    Greetings from the Green Chair

Greetings from the Green Chair! Well, I’m on my second glass of wine, trying to figure out this marketing business. How frustrating! I feel like I’ve done everything the “professionals” suggest, but am not seeming to get the traffic to my books that I would like. I guess I just have to keep plugging along. So, book three is on Amazon.com and Barnes and Nobles, however it is only in paperback so far. The eBooks are coming for Kindle and Nook, so stay tuned if you are waiting f

    Greetings From the Green Chair!

Greetings from the Green Chair! I thought today would be a good opportunity to discuss the making of my very first book trailer! I just released it on Facebook and Instagram. I think it turned out rather well. First, it was intended not only to get the word out about the first two books in my Kingdom of Jior fantasy series, but it was also to announce the upcoming third book, Heirs of Jior. You can read the full synopsis of book Three in my previous blog. Second, I wanted to

    Greetings from the Green Chair!

Greetings from the Green Chair! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! It’s been awhile since my last blog and I will offer no excuses and yes, I know that this is not a Monday which is when I usually post, but Wednesday will have to do. I have been busy writing, researching publishers, and working on the cover art for the third installment in the Kingdom of Jior series. I hope you are looking forward to reading it as much as I am looking forward to getting it out. The cover art

    Greetings from the Green Chair!

Greetings from the Green Chair! Good evening! Kind of piggy-backing upon my last blog about success; I had a reader of my book one, Of Demon Kind, tell me she loved my book and could not put it down. There is no greater compliment to an author than to hear those words. Many times, I’ve gotten discouraged, but then I think about those positive comments and I think, “Wow! That is the best compliment” and I start smiling so hard my face hurts and I end up doing the happy dance.

    Greetings from the Green Chair

Greetings from the Green Chair! Good evening! I’ve been thinking a lot lately, about how to measure success? What is the measure of success? Is it achieving a personal goal? Is it having fame and fortune? I think for me I just want my, to be cliché, slice of the pie. I’d like greater success with my book sales and more reviews of course, I want people to want to read more of my work and to look forward to future books… the whole 90. However, when I see reviews like this one,

    Greetings from the Green Chair!

Good evening! Tonight, I’d like to talk about crossing genres. For writing, there are well established genres such as: general fiction, mysteries, murder, crime solving, comedy, horror, romance, sci-fi, adventure, and fantasy. You can consider it more detailed such as historical fiction, sword and sorcery and space sci-fi as compared to tech sci-fi (think robots), murder mysteries, and paranormal mysteries. Then there are even further distinctions such as fairy tales, folk ta

    Greetings from the Green Chair!

Good evening! Sorry to be off schedule, been fighting a vicious bout of Bronchitis for the past two weeks. I do have some exciting news to relate though. I was recently picked as one of Jennie Reads Top Five Indie Reads! I’m speechless and thrilled to be chosen. Jennie Reads is a book reviewer/blogger who doesn’t normally read fantasy and so it is a double honor to be one of the chosen. You can read her full Top Five here: https://jenniereads.com/2018/08/04/top-5-ok-its-reall

    Greetings from the Green Chair!

Greetings from the Green Chair! Good evening! Today I thought an in-depth description of the main character of my book Of Demon Kind was in order. (Warning, might be a bit of a spoiler or two in here.) I think this will lend my readers a deeper understanding of Lorn of Jior. Some of the characteristics are integral to understanding his motivations and deeper character. Part of my excitement of writing is developing my characters personalities, motivations and goals. Lorn is b

    Greetings from the Green Chair!

Greetings from the Green Chair! If you haven’t noticed, I am only posting a blog every other Monday. The reason for this is that I don’t want it to get tedious and because I have been writing, writing, writing, every free minute I have. These days I can be found in my green chair working on a new story, perfecting an old one, and finalizing the next book three in the Kingdom of Jior series! Yes, you heard it here first, I have book three almost ready to go. It is written and

    Greetings from the Green Chair

Greetings from the Green Chair! Well, here is a bit of exciting news! I have recently been featured in a book called, ‘How to Stand Out From The Crowd With Your Book Marketing’ by Claire H. Perkins!!! A portion of my back cover book blurb from book two in the Kingdom of Jior series, ‘Redemption of the Fallen,’ has been featured in the section, “Writing the Best Book blurb.” I am thrilled. It is very encouraging to have something that was worked on painstakingly and be acknowl

    Greetings from the Green Chair

Greetings from the Green Chair! Today I was thinking of an article I read once, which sorry, can’t link to because it was in a real paper magazine and was about 20 years ago. The article said you don’t really have to know much about science to write science fiction. For example: you don’t need to know how a warp speed star ship works, to be able to write that your characters are flying on one. You just describe it all science fictionie like, but in reality warp speed star sh

    Greetings from the Green Chair!

Happy Memorial Day! It is a dark and stormy evening here in Colorado and perfect weather for writing! I love it! The clouds loom dark above, thunder rumbles in the distance and the mountain peaks look misty and dark. The rain is just beginning to fall and the stage is set for the perfect time to talk about my favorite character from Jior, King Lorn. Also, known as Forlorn Icefall of the Ny-Failen. But I’m getting ahead of myself. I have detailed character descriptions of
